Johnathan (Thomas) Rice focuses on helping clients solve complex cost and schedule problems and has assisted a wide range of government contracting and construction companies navigate related issues. With a background in project management, Johnathan understands the complicated interplay between budget, scope, time, and quality that is integral to every project. His experience on construction contracts and government procurements has helped numerous companies handle the variety of issues faced during a project’s life cycle, including work such as preparing change orders, requests for equitable adjustment, and certified claims; analyzing project schedules to quantify project delays; examining a contractor’s accounting records to assist with audits and audit rebuttals; analyzing bid protests cost and pricing issues; reviewing and developing terminated contract settlement proposals; and assessing cost accounting compliance issues.
Johnathan has collaborated with clients on accounting, financial, and economic issues dealing with, among other things, cost overruns, changed work, schedule delays, labor productivity impacts, cost escalation, and lost profits. He has testified and authored expert reports used in mediations, arbitrations, and trials, has been admitted under court issued protective orders, and has provided consulting services in support of domestic and international settlement negotiations.
