VERTEX’s ability to effectively manage projects is the framework that supports our success as a recognized industry leader for both traditional and forensic AEC services.
Our approach to Project Management is rooted in our core values. Our employees are dedicated to caring for our clients by consistently delivering a work product that provides a value-added approach while operating with a constant sense of urgency. Our growth-focused mindset is nourished by our commitment to a lifetime of learning philosophy for our technical leaders and Project Managers.
Our employees know our success is tied directly to our ability to present our clients with the highest quality work product that both meets time and budget requirements. We are keenly aware that in this competitive marketplace we are only as good as our last project; therefore, we treat each assignment, project, task, and client with a seriousness and professionalism that is unmatched in our industry. Our Project Managers not only focus on the technical aspects of the work but take all necessary steps to ensure that our clients are delighted with our performance.
VERTEX Project Framework
VERTEX takes care to add value to each project, no matter how small or large, by performing all our work with the following consistent approach:
Initiating (Preparation)
VERTEX works with a “ready to run” attitude. When our clients call/email with a new assignment, we are immediately ready to begin – all the measures and procedures needed to initiate and perform projects with a continued sense of urgency are streamlined, in place, and ready to activate. Our team of professionals have both the technical expertise, management skills, and focus on Health & Safety to make certain we present a superior work product under the safest possible working conditions.
Planning (Scope of Work & Budget)
Through the use of VERTEX’s proprietary Enterprise Management System (EMT) our Project Managers are able to set controls and communicate seamlessly with our support teams to develop and disseminate a clearly defined scope of work and client-approved budget structure. VERTEX’s EMT, known as ‘One VERTEX’, provides our clients with expeditious communication, even during large volume CAT events.
Executing (Performance)
Our professionals and 25+ offices located around the world have successfully completed more than 50,000 projects to date. Our projects cover numerous disciplines including Forensic, Engineering, Construction, and Environmental services. Our ‘Workflow’ system allows Project Managers to visualize the location and availability of our experts as we move from project to project. By doing so, we make sure that we are assigning the best technical fit in a location that offers the most expedient response at the most effective price point. The ‘Workflow’ system also sets measurable, real-time deadlines and maintains a streamlined system of communication for the project team.
Controlling (QA/QC)
Get it right the first time is VERTEX’s project management mantra. Our attention to detail is checked and double-checked by our project team. Our teams have implemented specific procedures that are meant to certify that progress-related and final deliverables meet our client expectations.
Lifetime of Learning
VERTEX’s philosophy towards personal and professional development is founded in supporting the pursuit of continuous, lifelong learning. To support this core value, we have developed an in-house learning platform, VERTEX University, which includes over 160 courses and several nanodegrees, including a formal project management training curriculum. This training combines VERTEX’s strengths and skill-sets that have been refined over 25 years of practical experience with our core values and sets us apart from our competitors.
We have recently expanded our learning platform through a partnership with the University of Colorado Denver, to provide an opportunity for our employees to obtain graduate degrees through a unique industry-academia partnership. VERTEX University’s project management program serves as the introductory course for our employees enrolling in University of Colorado Denver programs. Through this continuous learning environment, our employees stay ahead of the curve on both technical and management approaches.
