Are you ready to take the next step in your career goals? VERTEX is excited to announce a newly formed Master of Legal Studies in Forensic Engineering (MLS) program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. This program, co-developed by VERTEX and Sturm College of Law, is designed as a graduate program for construction and engineering professionals whose interests and areas of employment would be enriched by the study of construction law, forensics, the legal system and legal reasoning but who do not want to practice law.
Highlights:
This program enables graduates to effectively interact with lawyers, participate in evidence collection, depositions and serve as expert witnesses. Graduates will learn to think critically about organizations and their governing legal structures, and understand the legal, legislative, and regulatory landscapes in which they operate.
High-quality courses are taught by renowned Sturm College of Law faculty, experienced construction and engineering expert witnesses from VERTEX, other industry leaders, and attorneys with active construction claim matters.
The courses in this program are also open to Denver Law’s JD and LLM students, providing a close interaction with a variety of experienced professionals.
Just a few of the courses that are part of the program include:
- Construction Law
- Introduction to Contracts and Torts
- Intro to Forensics and Construction Dispute Resolution
- Forensic Scheduling
- Export Report Preparation
- Building Envelope and Civil Construction
“Vertex’s partnership with the University of Denver will reach an exciting milestone in early 2023 with kickoff of the first of its kind Master of Legal Studies in Forensic Engineering. This program is designed for professionals that are either in forensic and/or dispute resolution fields or are interested in transitioning to this type of practice. The blend of law, construction, and engineering content within this program will accelerate the learning for forensic consultants and expert witnesses alike, which would otherwise take decades to garner. This compressed learning curve will revolutionize the forensic and dispute resolution industries, and we are thrilled to be a contributor to this positive shift that will promote just outcomes for claims of all types”.
