In support of a real estate transaction for the acquisition of 242 service stations located throughout Ontario, VTX was retained to review numerous historical Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessment and Remediation Reports that were conducted for due diligence purposes. VTX reviewed documentation to provide the Client with an understanding of current Site conditions (comparing historical analytical data and methodology to the current O. Reg. 153/04 criteria and standards), regulatory status, and storage tank compliance. Upon completion of the technical peer review, VTX ranked each Site according to pre-defined risk ranking categories and if a high-risk category was designated, cost estimates for subsurface investigations or remedial activities were provided.
