VERTEX provided structural consulting services for the restoration of a 160-foot clock tower and spire at First Congregational Church in Winchester, Massachusetts. Services included inspection, analysis, and verification of existing wood framing at various roof surfaces to support scaffolding erected and designed by others. Shoring and strengthening details were provided in localized areas with an overall goal of mitigating impacts to the church.
VERTEX’s expertise in structural evaluation of existing wood framing and as well as effective coordination with the scaffolding engineer with critical to the overall success of the project. Onsite monitoring and inspections were conducted to troubleshoot field conditions and mitigate damages to roofing components.
