VERTEX provided consulting services to the surety on all matters relating to a mid-sized general contractor with three active projects in various states of completion. The projects included an expansion to an airport passenger terminal, an air rescue fire fighting facility at an airport, and a military operational facility. VERTEX approached each project individually to assess the best means of mitigating the surety’s risk and fulfilling the surety’s obligations under the performance and payment bonds. VERTEX services included initial investigation activities, a termination analysis, various cost, and schedule analyses, review of over 60 payment bond claims, project monitoring, support of subcontractor claim litigation, subcontractor ratifications, full-time on-site construction management services to complete one of the projects, coordination of project closeout documentation, managing collection of contract funds for the surety, and other miscellaneous construction contract administration and consulting services for the surety.
