Have a question or want to speak with a technical professional?
VERTEX is a multi-discipline firm with global coverage. Our international network of resources enables us to provide multi-national clients with the most qualified local professionals who understand the culture, language, and regulatory framework.
VERTEX’s qualified cost experts estimate and/or evaluate construction costs utilizing industry standard estimating techniques. Because VERTEX is a large construction contractor, we maintain a database of subcontractor and vendor pricing within our Procore system, so we have a feel for current market conditions. We also use OnScreen Takeoff software for quantity takeoffs. Lastly, VERTEX maintains subscriptions to industry standard cost databases including Xactimate, EquipmentWatch and RSMeans.
Fault Allocation
VERTEX’s experts utilize a five-step approach to allocating fault to potentially responsible parties in construction claims:
Identify the construction issue
Identify the various duties of the parties
Determine which party or parties are responsible for the issue
Determine if the issue is latent or patent
Determine if a follow up contractor improperly covered up patently defective work
Based on methodology VERTEX assigns fault percentages to the various parties. This allocation work is generally used to assist in settlement negotiations.
