Dr. Gemperline founded MCG Geotechnical Engineering Inc. in 2008 and by 2015 had directed the efficient completion of in excess of $4M in environmental and geotechnical engineering contracts by providing expert, geotechnical and environmental services to attorneys as well as providing technical leadership on large CERCLA projects. Prior to 2008, while employed by the Bureau of Reclamation, Dr. Gemperline led teams in the safety evaluation of embankment dams, was the geotechnical team member on many western water projects and performed a broad array of both geotechnical and environmental engineering. Dr. Gemperline also supervised a unit of an internationally recognized national geotechnical testing laboratory. Dr. Gemperline is very experienced with both field and laboratory soil/rock characterization and environmental site characterization in addition to his experience with evaluation of both short-term and long-term soil behavior. Finally, Dr. Gemperline enjoys mentoring, project management, quality management, analysis, forensics and design and is motivated by a desire to use and share knowledge, skills and abilities he has gained during his 40 years of professional engineering practice. Dr. Gemperline taught “Introduction to Geotechnical Engineering” in 2014 and 2017 for the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado, Denver. Prior to that, between 2001 and 2007, he taught “Introduction to Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering” at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
