Mr. Kirby is a Project Executive for VERTEX. He earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. He has the Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) license and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisors license (unrestricted) and is certified Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) for Designers and OPMs.
Mr. Kirby has nearly 40 years of experience in construction. With Vertex since 2006, he has provided expertise in Construction Management, Owners Project Management, Surety Claim completion, Construction Defect claim investigation, and Property and Casualty claim investigation.
Mr. Kirby currently provides Owner Project Management services on numerous MA public works projects acting as the Owner’s representative. Services include oversight of the work performed by the project designer and contractors starting from designer selection, design, bidding, construction administration, and through to construction closeout. Projects include new construction, renovation/addition, historical renovation, addition/renovation, roof replacement, window replacement, and M/E/P/FP building systems replacement on public projects.
Mr. Kirby has provided construction defect claims consulting service on numerous projects including high end condominium units in New Jersey.
Mr. Kirby has provided claims consulting services for property and casualty insurance carriers on numerous claims nationwide including hail, snow loading, water infiltration, wind damage, and flooding. Claims involved damage to residential and commercial properties and included, but was not limited to, slate, asphalt shingle, built-up, PVC, EPDM roofs; EIFS; masonry; structural framing; drainage; foundations; siding; and interior finishes.
Mr. Kirby has provided surety consulting services nationwide for surety insurance carriers on numerous projects, including schools, subdivisions, public buildings, and subcontractors. Claims involved defaulted or poorly performing contractors, performance bond completion, and payment bond analysis.
